Hospital Stay...

Hey Y'all.

I had to stay in the hospitla overnight recently because I had gone in with some chest pain on Thursday. Don't worry, it's nothing serious, just stress, which is of no surprise to me because I have a Black Belt in Stress.
But I wanted to share my hospital stay since it's pretty much the only interesting thing that's happened to me this week.

So I was in dialysis and in the middle of my treatment, my chest went to aching so badly that i really had to leave and go straight to the hospital for it. The nurses wanted to send me by ambulance, but I'll only get into an ambulance if I'm unconsious. I was alert and annoyed mostly. I hate hospitals and I hate needles and all that stuff.

As soon as I go in, they're throwing a gown on me and sticking me for an IV. And i'm not sure what all they did to me. I was having stuff pumped into my arm and the docs were throwing aspirins and other pills at me. Apparently my blood pressure was up--it always is on a dialysis day because I DON'T WANT TO BE THERE!  and they were trying to bring it down and all.

I was remarkably calm throughout the whole thing. Frankly, a part of me was so over the idea of being in the hospital, I really lacked the ability to care.
I'm so used to it, it's like "okay, take the blood, okay do this, do that...I'm watching Rachael Ray right now..." It didn't phase me and I was more watching TV than paying attention as I got stuck with needles.
I sat in the ER bay for a while, where I was hungry and the doctor came along and said I was being transported to a room to be looked at over night and they stuck a heart monitor on me.

(I look halfway decent with no make up on.)

I didn't really care and the only thing I asked my father for when he left to get some things for me, was to bring my doll Nooney so I could sleep. (Go ahead and laugh, I haven't slept without that piece of plastic since 1990!)

(Me with Nooney, go ahead, laugh, I don't care!)

So I got thrown into a room, and thankfully, it was a private room and I was to myself and could watch TV in peace.
Or so I thought.
Every so often, someone was knocking ont he door and peeking in after me and taking blood--which pissed me off greatly because I already had an IV and they were stickign me with fresh needles for the blood. So I have little marks all over my good arm from that.
Dinner came around and I was so hungry I devoured it and didn't really taste it. i think it was chicken. Really dry, not as good as the chicken I make. LOL.
Then night came and hell started.
There was a ticking clock in my room--a manual one, not a digital room--and I simply cannot sleep in a room with a ticking clock. Ask my boyfriend Dion, I made him switch all the clocks in his bedroom to digital ones.
For four hours, I laid awake and listened to the clock before I got up and ripped it off the wall and yanked the battery out. I really yank it off the wall.
Then I finally went to sleep.
For about an hour.
The next thing I knew, two nurses were in my room at FIVE AM, sticking me for blood and I had to get stuck twice because the first time, nothing came into the needle.
the second time the fool stuck me with something that looked like a damn javelin it was so long and I cried. It hurt. If only he knew how I was cursing him out in my mind.
Then I went to something like sleep, but it wasn't good because I was so hot. Like the a/c wasn't workign or anything. It was pitiful.
And I flipped like a fish out of water in that bed. I threw Nooney on the floor a few times trying to get comfortable and by the time morning came, I wanted to take up and run away from the hospital.
The worst part of the night was that at some point during the night I banged my mouth on Nooney's head, loosened a tooth and bled all over the place.

(It scared the mess out of the night nurse when i went to her with a bleeding mouth and this is just ONE of many tissues used to stop the bleeding. IF you wanna clone me, there's your strand of DNA. LOL)

I was so releived and glad to go home, I kissed the walls when I got home. LOL. SO glad it's over!
